As a biomedical science student you will develop subject specific knowledge and skills as well as a range of transferable skills.
The practical work you undertake equips you with the skills associated with good laboratory practice. You are able to:

- Comply with health and safety legislation
- Research and interpret scientific literature
The transferable skills developed during your degree include:

- Structure and communicate ideas effectively by written and/or verbal means
- Gather relevant information/data from appropriate manual and/or electronic sources
- Manage time, resources and task to deadlines
- Negotiate informally with peers and/or professionals
- Apply laboratory techniques such as analytical and/or microscopic analysis
- Apply numerical and statistical techniques of analysis
- Demonstrate self-awareness and confidence in skills transferable to the workplace
