Applications for Mountbatten Institute…

We are pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the Mountbatten Institute’s August 2012 Intake to New York.

The Mountbatten experience really can have a dramatic impact on a young person’s professional career. This year’s report from the Association of Graduate Recruiters stressed the importance of international awareness and suggested that ‘immersion in a different culture can catapult a graduate into being considered for rewarding roles”.

Mountbatten interns are living proof of this: nearly 20% of interns go on to work with their sponsor companies when they return to their home country and those that don’t are in high demand from recruitment agencies and employers. Following 12 months in the world’s economic capital, Mountbatten interns are armed with transferable soft skills, cross-cultural awareness, confidence, ambition and professional maturity. The experience serves as a solid investment in any graduate’s career and long-term prospects. The academic course has now been enhanced which runs alongside the work placement and in March a new curriculum will launch which includes modules in Managerial Accounting and Finance and Organisational Behaviour and Leadership. This postgraduate qualification offers tangible evidence of a successful year working and studying abroad.

We encourage any recent graduate or finalist student interested in international business to consider their prestigious cultural exchange programme. They are not only looking for business graduates – they recruited candidates from over 80 different universities last year and nearly 50% were graduates of arts, humanities and science and legal courses. The graduate market is so competitive today that professional experiences that make you stand out from the crowd are essential. We are confident that a year in New York is the ideal way to achieve this.

The deadline for August 2012 applications is March 15th. Full eligibility requirements can be found online:
