Graduate Opportunities

The number of graduate level opportunities is restricted by the size of the company. However, as the company grows, there is every potential for an increased number of graduate level jobs in areas such as HR, Purchasing/ Invoicing, Sales etc.

Voluntary/Work Experience Opportunities

The company has taken on some work experience school students in the past and so would be open to possible approaches from undergraduates seeking some work experience/ voluntary work. The number that they could take on and the time taken would be restricted by the size of the company.

The company does however, have regular seasonal, temporary positions that would suit an undergraduate – for example – summer production work.

Experience and Perception of Graduates

Recent perceptions have included that graduates generally have very good technical knowledge and ability but tend to be lacking in some of the soft skills that they would look for in a recruit.

However, in recently recruiting for a technical position, the company had many applicants from forensic science at the University of Lincoln. They presented themselves very professionally and were able to sell themselves well. In contrast to the general perception, they were only turned down because of a lack of relevant technical (chemical) knowledge.

Also, because of the companies remote location, they have found that some graduates would come to interview relying on others for transport and have not thought through the logistics of getting to work should they be offered the position.
