Background
Set up in 1982 and has run numerous business support projects. They currently deliver the Business Link contract for the East Midlands. There has been increasing demand for their time of late and they employ a team of outreach workers, business advisers & trainers. They offer a range of services to help people that are looking at starting up on their own business. This includes training events including ‘Getting the Basics Right’, ‘Finding & Keeping Customers’. These sessions are delivered in a wide range of settings or from within the chamber, and are free of charge however, they would expect to have a minimum of 5 participants at the training.
NBV have now approached some of the banks to come in on their sessions to deliver information and advice on banking services for business start up. HMRC also support this activity & both organisations are often seen together at reciprocal workshops.
Once the business has started up, NBV can provide support for up to 3 years under the current contract – this is all done through the Business Link Start Up service & Solutions for Business.
